22 sq. mi.) is seeking an energetic public administrator/fire service professional capable of continuing and enhancing the efficient delivery of fire and EMS services. Position reports directly to the City Manager.

HEALTH INSURANCE:
The employee receives medical coverage (including prescription and vision coverage), and dental coverage. The City pays 100% of the HMO medical premium for the employee, and 100% of the dental premium for the employee. The employee may choose to cover his/her dependents. The employee pays 40% of the medical premium and 100% of the dental premium for their depend-ents. The waiting period for the medical plan is first of the month following thirty days (30) of employment. Premiums are deducted from the payroll check biweekly (maximum of two per month).
DENTAL INSURANCE:
The city pays 100% of the premium for the employee. The employee pays 100% of the dependent premium for dental.
LIFE INSURANCE:
The employee receives a $50,000. term life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment policy. The City pays 100% of the premium for the employee. The waiting period is first of the month following thirty (30) days of employment.
CITY OF SEMINOLE MUNICIPAL FIREFIGHTER'S PENSION PLAN:
The employee is enrolled in the municipal pension as of the first day of employment. Vesting in
the plan requires ten years of employment. The City currently contributes a percentage of the employee's salary to the pension plan. The percentage changes annually based upon the actuarial study. The employee contributes 8% (pre-tax) to the plan. The pension will be explained to you in detail by the pension representative.
DEFERRED COMPENSATION PLANS:
The City has contracted with two companies to provide 457 Deferred Compensation plans to
City employees. The companies are ICMA Corporation, and Nationwide Retirement Solutions. The 457 plans require voluntary participation. Contributions begin at $20.00 per month. The employee can start or stop the program as desired. The IRS 457 Code determines when the funds invested can be withdrawn.
VACATION:
Full-time employees shall accrue vacation time from their first full month of employment with the City. The schedule is as follows for fifty-six (56) hour personnel:
1 thru 4 years of completed service: 5 shifts
Beginning year 5 thru 7 years of completed service: 7 shifts
Beginning year 8 thru 10 years of completed service: 9 shifts
Beginning year 11 thru 13 years of completed service: 11 shifts
Beginning year 14 thru 16 years of completed service: 13 shifts
Beginning year 17 or more of completed service: 15 shifts
Vacation leave is calculated on a monthly basis and is posted and available January 1st of each year. An employee accrues vacation leave during one year to be available the next year. An employee must complete the probationary period before utilizing available vacation leave.
SICK LEAVE:
All full-time forty (40) hour employees shall accrue eight (8) hours of sick leave for each full month of employment. All full-time fifty-six (56) hour employees shall accrue twelve (12) hours sick leave for each full month of employment. Sick leave shall be "no value" hours to be utilized for illness and injury. A forty (40) hour employee may accrue up to a maximum of nine hundred sixty (960) of sick leave credits. A fifty-six (56) hour employee may accrue up to a maximum of one thousand four hundred forty (1440) of sick leave credits.
LONGEVITY:
The City has instituted an annual longevity appreciation payment to reward those employees completing five (5) or more continuous years of full-time service. The payment is made to the employee during the week of the first normal pay in the month of December. The longevity appreciation amount ranges from $200. to $1000.00, and is based upon years of service.
HOLIDAYS:
The City observes 12 holidays (which includes 2 floating holidays). Fifty-six (56) hour employees will receive twelve (12) hours of time off for each of the City's holidays. Holiday time is available for use after six (6) months of employment.
EDUCATIONAL REIMBURSEMENT:
The City encourages its employees to avail themselves to job related advanced education and training in their respective fields of work. The City will assist employees with education and training under certain guidelines. Educational reimbursement for Firefighters is outlined in the union contract.
UNIFORMS:
The City shall furnish a uniform allowance for the care and cleaning of uniforms, and for the purchase of safety shoes by each employee. The allotment is: $257.88 annually for shift personnel. The amount of the allowance is designated in the union contract.
